September 2023 Updates for Power BI

This month’s updates see modifications to editing the data models, row-level security, and also provides a reminder to update your .NET Framework version for Power BI Desktop.

  • Upgrade Power BI Desktop .NET Framework to 4.7.2 or newer

  • ‘Edit relationships’ in the Properties pane now Generally Available

  • Row-level security (RLS) test as role improvements


  • Supporting AAD Shared device mode (Preview)


  • Git integration:
    • Paginated reports now supported with Git integration
    • Checkout and Switch Branches in a Workspace
    • New E2E CI / CD tutorial now available


  • New visuals in AppSource
  • Beeswarm chart
  • Explore time-based data down to each millisecond with Drill Down TimeSeries PRO
  • New updates for accoPLANNING (Release 57)
  • Zebra BI charts on-visual settings
  • Word Cloud by Powerviz
  • Innofalls charts
  • Hierarchy chart by MAQ Software
  • Power BI JSON Report Theme Generator by BIBB.
