New Updates for Get & Transform in Excel 2016 / Power Query in Excel 2010 and 2013

4 May 2016

The Power Query train rolls on and on: it seems Microsoft has been busy. No less than 13 new features have been released in two sequential updates to the Get & Transform capabilities in Excel 2016 and their counterpart Power Query add-ins for Excel 2010 and Excel 2013.

The new features are too numerous to mention in their entirety in this brief news update, but they include the ability to select the column delimiter in the source dialog for CSV connectors, the ability to append multiple tables within a single Append transformation (pictured, right), a new one-click Percentage transformation and the option to disable data previews to download in the background, thus enhancing operational performance.

There are so many updates Microsoft has had to release the details in two separate blogs which may be found here and here. These updates are available as part of Microsoft's Office 365 subscription. To find out how you can obtain these updates, please refer to the Microsoft Support article published here.
